Wooster Square's 2021 Cherry Blossoms getting closer!!

I get by with a little help from my Friends!

What a wild ride we have ridden for the past 12-14 months. Thankfully, we seem to be heading in the right direction and next year our Cherry Blossom Festival will continue its long run.

As most of you know, I'm hobble by extensive foot surgery and have had to forecast these 2021 Blossoms from my couch.

Humbling as it is, a couple of Blossom Blog followers have answered the call and kept me abreast!

According to the National Park Service, its virtually impossible to predict when the Blossoms actually peak within 10 days. Here at the WSBB, we've identified all the necessary variables, then basically guess!

But hey, after 10 years of predicting, cajoling and showing you, we've gotten pretty good at predicting.

This year's prediction is for April 18th for Peak. That my fellow flower following fans is only 13 days away.

Right now we are in the Extension of Florets stage.

But with the sun and warmth ahead, you must keep on your toes!! Thanks to Kimberly C. for these awesome pics of Extension of Florets.

From this stage, we go to Peduncle Elongation (Florets get longer and separate) to Puffy to Peak!

Check out these photos from Yesterday morning from
Aparna D, who came down from the Hartford area to lend a Blossom Blogging Hand!

Are we confused yet? No need be, just stay tuned right here on the Wooster Square Blossom Blog for all the latest updates!
