Wooster Square Cherry Blossoms reach stage 3 of 6!
Extension of Floret Folks!
Remember those daffodils that were so eager to bloom? Well, they got frozen solid for two nights in a row. So it's a good thing that our Wooster Square blossoms were just beginning. Even with the freeze, we managed to make it into stage 3, extension of florets.
So what does this mean Mr. Blossom Blogger?
Thank you for asking and I'll get back to that. You see,
11 years ago the Historic Wooster Square Association and Cherry Blossom Festival committee wanted someone to keep the public informed on the status of the blossoms. You know, on this kind of new thing, the internet and a social media. They used to do it the old fashioned way, call Charlie, long time festival chair.
And call, and call, and call!
So naturally, my wife volunteered me. How could I say no? I mean, I loved photographing them. But boy, I didn't really know if would blossom into literally millions of views over the years. I've become a fixture as the chief unofficial/official official. If you get what I mean.
Back to your question. What DOES this all mean?
It means in order to know the status of when are the Cherry Blossom in World Famous, Historic Wooster Square, you should follow me on twitter @BlossomBlogger on the Wooster Square Blossom Blog facebook page and woostersquareblossomblogger on Instagram.
So let's take a look around an abbreviated photo shoot this morning. Abbreviated because my battery had three bars of four and went dead because it was SO COLD. Dang, I need hazard pay!

You must understand that Wooster Square's Trees are being continually replaced as older trees die. They only have about a 15 year life span. Some of older trees and many juvenile trees are the first to bloom.
Today, Tuesday March 29, 2022, we are about 12 to 17 days until peak blossoms (when about 70% of the tree are in peak bloom.)
I'll be out all week keeping the progress. Sign up for email delivery for piping hot delivery of you blog!
