Wet Weather Went Wayside, Wooster Square Warm, Wonderful

Bright Bountiful Beautiful Blossoms Abound

Since I can remember, since its inception, the International Festival of Arts and Ideas has always had some run ins with a Mother Nature Moisture Motherload. But this year, someone did the rain dance early, leaving the Drenching Daily Downpours Days before Debut.

To put it in perspective, we have had 10.29 inches of rain here in the Wonderful World of Wooster Square this month. That is just under half our total rainfall so far of 21.59. Surely Seemingly Supremely Showery Seattle Shies in comparison with 11.89 inches of rain for 2013 so far. In reality, Mobile Alabama comes in as the wettest American city with a Wholley Whooping Wopping Wet & Wild 67 inches on average per year. So far this month our Mindful Mobile Members have seen only 4.33 inches and 15.27 inches this year.

We have had some normal afternoon thunder boomers and some showers. But besides that, I believe fellow Wooster Squarian, neighbor and, Arts & Ideas Executive Director Mary Lou Aleskie would rather have this Hazy, Hot (its not the Heat, its the Humility) weather than rain.

One such storm came through Wooster Square on June 17th. I have been known to stand on the Blossom Blog Perch photographing storms as they pass Loudly Lighting our Little Loveable Square of Humble Perfection. So far this year, the storms all seem to fizzle while hitting our Shoreline Shimmery Square Sea weather. Cheryl took her bike to an appointment and came home to tell me what I had already been photographing. We had one of the most !Amazing! Rainbows for 2013 here in Wooster Square!  It was a double rainbow (too light to really see in photo), and the main rainbow stretched from one end of the sky from our Sweet Saintly Sakura's on Hughes Place to the parapet of St. Michael's. I took tons of photos, here are a couple of Wooster Square Wonders...

Unreal Reality

Beam me up Scotty!

After the Storm and Ensuing Engaging Rainbow(s), Cheryl and I took Chyna and Zippy over to the the base of the Rainbow. And we struck Wooster Square Gold Jackpot!
