Just one Month away until the
47 Annual Cherry Blossom Celebration in Wooster Park!
Some things seem to never change, and then there were the last two years. However, here in World Famous, Historic Wooster Square things are looking at lot more normal.
In New Haven, masks are no longer required so even timid folks are getting back to normal. We're eating out, going to movies, seeing parades, and now our Cherry Blossom Celebration on April, 24 Noon to 4:30.
Speaking of normal, the only way to describe cherry blossoms blooming process as anything but normal. They always are a surprise to behold. All through the steps: Green tips, Florets Found, Extension of Florets, Peduncle Elongation (gasp!) Puffy Pink/white and lastly, ka-Bloom!
So if your in the neighborhood, try and see how the trees evolve from cold sentinels to sakura stars! Try and walk around the park and just, well just be.
As the Cherry Blossoms remind us of life's beauty and joy, they also tell us how short life is, and to reflect on what is good in your life and community.
As I have written many times, Wooster Square has been evolving, now the whole downtown is evolving. We are going through an apartment explosion, the likes of which no-one has seen.
When 360 State Street went up, we were like, who's going to live there? When it was done, seems like everyone. Fully rented. 360 State was just the beginning tip of the Aparment-burg.
So mark your calendars, we all deserve a great
47th Annual Cherry Blossom Celebration!
Here's some photos from today, let's see where we are in the blooming process.
