Wooster Square's famed Cherry Trees are in Stage One of Six

I'm often asked: Mr. Blossom Blogger? How come you say that there are seven stages to the Cherry Blossom Peak (when about 70% of trees are in full bloom) but the National Park service say there are six stages.

To answer that in a nutshell, the seventh stage of the cherry blossom is the dormant stage! So technically, as a leading expert in Blossomations (predicting) in the Nation, I am right about seven stages. But nonetheless, I'm adopting the six stages as not to confuse newcomers to our fine flower following folks!

Washington DC had the second warmest winter on record. So their Cherry tree (you may have heard about them) blossoms are ahead of schedule.

But here in Connecticut? Not so much. We had a decently cold winter, but spring has sprung. You may notice birds chirping their love songs for spring breeding---like at 4am when you are trying to sleep!

So where do we stand here in Historic Wooster Square? We are in the green tips stage or stage one. Take a look at some photos from yesterday, Friday, March 18, 2022.

Yellow crowned night heron nests!

The juvenile tree at Academy and Chapel is always an overachiever and is known to bloom anytime.
