Super Sunny Saturday on the 2nd day of April

Wooster Square Cherry Blossoms getting ready to put on a show!

As I reported earlier, Washington DC Cherry Blossoms peaked on March 21. Today they are basically over. After full Peak Bloom, DC had two back to back storms that sent the Buds flying. The good news is that they did last about a week to 10 days.

Hopefully, here in Historic, World Famous Wooster Square we won't repeat that weather pattern.

If this were a normal year, we would be 3-4 days from peak. However, the disparity in temps from DC to New Haven was quite large.

Even this morning, as Roxie and I get ready to go out this morning and take some photos, it is only 42 with a real feel of 31 degrees. We are set to warm up later in the week.

Don't forget to mark your Calendars for the 47th Annual Cherry Blossom Celebration at Wooster Park on Sunday April 24, Noon to 4:30.

Let's take a look at some photos from today, Saturday April 2, 2022-

The chill has these buds moving nice and easy. Were still in stage 3, extension of florets. Again, some ahead some behind. I'm still thinking 10 - 15 days to peak. Or sooner! Or later! You just have to stay tuned! A new post on Monday to see where we stand!
