Wooster Square Cherry Blossoms reach Stage 2: Florets found!

🌸 Florets Found! State & National Recognition for Wooster Square Cherry Blossoms 🌸

Exciting times for Wooster Square! Moving from Stage One to Two, the iconic cherry blossoms are now revealing their delicate florets—ushering in the much-anticipated bloom. 🌸 With State and National recognition, these blossoms are more than beautiful—they're legendary!

And did you know? New Haven, a city of firsts according to the New Haven Museum, and is also home to the world’s first Photoblogumentarya fascinating fusion of photos, blogs, commentary, and documentary storytelling.

Proudly crafted right here on the Wooster Square Blossom Blog, it’s a brilliant nod to New Haven's innovative spirit! 📷✍️

As quoted in National Geographic, Bart Connors Szczarba, our very own Chief Bloomologist, explains: "Until you see green buds, there won’t be blossoms. They fall into a pattern but can bloom out of nowhere! Cold winters are good for blossoms. What’s bad is warmth followed by snow and freeze."

Don’t miss this year’s Cherry Blossom Festival on April 6, as we celebrate not just the blossoms but also the vibrant history and creativity of New Haven! Enjoy some photos from today 3/27/2025
