That's a lot of Blossoms, Birds, Biking and Banter!
Seems like just yesterday.
Cheryl "volunteered" me to take photos
daily of the Cherry Blossoms and post them.
You see the theory was, the Historic Wooster Square Association wanted to let
people know when Wooster Square
Cherry Blossoms were peaking.
But wait.
Don't you always have the Festival on
the day that Cherry Trees peak?
Aha! Now you're catching on.
The Cherry Blossom Festival
(now postponed to 2021 due to the Covid-19)
is planned a year in advance!
And planning can be pretty tricky
when planning around Easter
and Passover.
Plus, those Holidays follow
the Lunar calendar then use
a dart board to pick the date.
The Blog would alleviate the then phone
calls to the Chairs asking when
the blossoms were blooming.
Like all the time. Hundreds a week.
People wanted to know, right?
Voila! The Wooster Square Blossom
Blog was born.
For nine years I've tracked our
pretty pink petals people!
Since the Festival has been cancelled
I have to be on my game!
I need to show and tell you where
we are in the process.
I'm going to head out and take
some photos and see exactly!

Wooster Square Cherry trees are all
in the process of Blooming.
Nailing down a exact date is pretty
difficult. The National Park Service
says that it's impossible to predict
them until about 10 days before.
Even then they mess it up!
Here at the WSBB we've been
100% accurate at photographing
and predicting Blossoms for Nine Years!
Some trees are almost to the Third Stage,
Extension of Florets. Most are stuck
in the Second stage-florets found.
Based on photos, the Blossoms
should be close to peak
16-21 days until Peak Pop!
Could be the Palm Sunday, April 5th.
If they get on a hurry up schedule,
then it could be before Palm Sunday.
