Warmish November keeps Wooster Street a Hoppin!

 New Haven is Back!

Back to Work,

Back to School & Back to play!

These are exiting times to live in the Wonderful World of Wooster Square! As if almost instantly, Wooster Square has been revitalized by the pandemic and development.

In case you didn't notice, there's a heck of a lot more people out and about. And dogs? Forget about it! With literally thousands of new apartments in New Haven most allowing dogs in our dog friendly neighborhood.

Let's not forget, Cheryl and I met walking our dogs in 2006. We sponsored a bench to commemorate!

You may have had appiza pie with us!
If not, just grab your favorite take-out
and beverage and have a seat!
Voila! Bon Appetit!

Also, with Sally's new ownership in addition to newer hugely popular Zeneli's and Pasta Eataliana, there are more choices than ever! Not to be outdone, Pepe's, Tre Scalini, Abate's, Consiglio's, and Libby's all remodled and updated. It's almost as if Wooster Square has been reborn with ten fold the number of people. Lines form where no lines were before! If it's any indication of how people are enjoying themselves you can see it in the Miles of Smiles.

Never know who'll you'll bump into
on World Famous, Historic Wooster Street!

A simple trip out to the shore, the exit being at the end of Wooster Street, can take more time. You see, cars from all over the country are on Wooster Street crawling down the street. At times, it can be a bit exasperating!

But wait! There's more! The parks department redid the Memorial Park on Wooster Street with updated playscapes, swings, a ping pong table, and a fixed up bocce court. If you come by Sunday mornings, you see the local men enjoying a friendly match.

More and more families have moved to Wooster Square. A new coffee shop opened on Chapel Street near Wooster Park. And with fingers crossed, were hoping about some nice stores/restaurants opening in the new Apartment buildings.

For now we wait. For what? Well for the 50th Annual Wooster Square Cherry Blossom Celebration!! In case you're wondering, the Festival is only 137 days away!
April, 16, 2023! In case you missed an earlier post, I have predicted the Blossoms to Peak on April 16th! Since starting the WSBB, I have correctly predicted peak 11 years in a row!

So get your favorite dedicated device, and digitize the date!

The Cherry Blossom Festival is already meeting planning next years Celebration! After a two years absence, we had a wonderful turnout last year. If you want more information, head the the handy hanami website at the Historic Wooster Square Association!
(currently being updated)

If you are interested in participating as a volunteer we will welcome you! The Cherry Blossom Festival is one on New Haven's loved events. Drawing folks from Boston, NYC and all over Connecticut.

Because Cherry Blossoms represent rebirth & a new beginning, we celebrate spring anew! Alas, like life, Cherry Blossoms are fleetingly short lived. So the only way you will know is to follow this Blog, follow the WSBB facebook page, and follow @blossomblogger on twitter and @woostersquareblossomblogger on instagram!

Want a sneak peak?!?! Well, the tree on the corner of sunshine and happiness is giving us a third holiday hanami miracle! This juvenile tree (corner of Academy and Chapel right behind directional sign has bloomed for the third year in a row since planted.)

In fact, a fellow flower following fan says that the tree was planted in honor of her son, who passed way before his time. Who knew the power of our Sweet Sacred Sakura Square. If you get a chance, check it out.

If you didn't, well I've been known to take some photos from around the town. I post them on Google maps also. And I guess the are a big help! But almost 50 million views? Not to mention all the other platforms. Thanks to our Sponsor, Cheryl Szczarba Realtor, you get all these photos delivered hot and delicious for the low low price of FREE!

So if your in the market to buy, sell or rent, call or text Cheryl at 203-996-8328! Seabury Hill Realtors 233 Wooster Street. Won't you be our neighbor?
