40th Annual Wooster Square
Cherry Blossom Festival April 14, 2013
Noon to 5pm
Things are hopping around here in the Square in anticipation of over 5000 people to flock to our humble yet perfect corner of paradise. Neighbors literally do everything for the festival and it is a yearlong planning event. The Parks Department does a great job trimming and taking care of winter debris.
Our World Famous Wooster Square Cherry Blossoms are taking their time this year. It is more reminiscent of 2011, when they opened about the 20th and were over by April 30th. Of course, weather is the main factor on how long these breathtaking beauties will stick around. Last year, they popped on March 30th, reached Peak Poppadge around April 6, and were over on April 11. Today.
What a difference a year makes.
All Gone Last Year by Today
But just starting this year...

Fireworks about to begin
How can you keep your Pink Sanity while we wait for our hibernating blossoms to bust out? One must contain ones excitement. Breathe deeply and look at last years photos if you must. The best thing about the Wooster Square Cherry Blossoms are they are all ahead and not behind us! We have so much Pink and White celebrating to look forward too!
So on a drearier, colder and Blossom Blunting kind of day, I'll see if I can take a closer look at our precious pink flowers.
