Heroine Halep Has Hot Hand
2013 New Haven Open Champion

The 2013 New Haven Open is in the history books, scoring an ace with the fans and players alike. Played a week before the currently contested competitive US Open, we here in the Elm City got to see World Class Tennis up close and personal. And see the Stars of Tomorrow, Today. Of course we had a huge handful of top ten of the Whole Wide World of Wicked Wonderful Wiley Winged Women Wackers!

This years Terrific Tantalizing Tennis did not disappoint! With Wimbledon Darling Marion Bartoli retiring days before the tournament, the drama didn't stop there! For returning Champion Petra Kvitova, it was not an easy task getting by one of the hottest women's tennis players, Simona Halep. Halep dominated the field with impressive "oh no you didn't!" shots one after the other.

Cheryl's family has had a box since the old Volvo came down from New Hampshire in the late 80's. Cheryl and I have taken over the box and enjoy supporting anything and everything New Haven!

Well, for starters they had a Comfort Food and Cocktails night. Local restaurants strutted their most decadent comfort foods and deserts. From John Davenport to Zinc and every letter in between satiated serious seekers of palate pleasing people plates! Meet the players interviews, bands and entertaining things for the kids rounded out the week of

If you have not had a chance to check out the New Haven Open, put it on your Calendar for 2014! It still is one of the most popular events on the Women's Tennis Association's tour! By the way, this year is the 40th year of the WTA! Started in part by Billie Jean King, the tournaments are a way to showcase American and World Class Women's Tennis! How cool is that?

Thanks Billie Jean!
