Since the pandemic, New Haven has been in a sprint. Social media caught up with the fact that New Haven has not only the best pizza in the World, N'aven's a great foodie town.

What do we have? Besides Wooster Square, New Haven is home to museums, theaters, legendary music scene, Yale and history dating the the 1600's. Countless inventions happened here in New Haven.

We have had one wave of publicity crashing after the other. A proverbial plethora of articles, social media posts and proclamations by public officials.

Right when you think you'd seen everything and all the positive happening in New Haven, we get yet another top ten!

The Lonely Planet, a 50 year old travel website dedicated to finding interesting travel stories named Wooster Square one of the Top Ten destinations in 2024 to see Cherry Blossoms!!

This year at the Wooster Square Blossom Blog we are into our 13th year! This is post # 335! I'd like to think that we might have tooted Wooster Square's horn a few times over the years.

In fact, say someone wants to find out anything about Wooster Square one of these posts may pop up. And along the same lines, any discussion about cherry blossoms may find the Wooster Square Blossom Blog or the Blossom Blogger himself, Bart Connors Szczarba.

In fact, I asked my co-pilot ai (Bing) to see if we could find some of the leading cherry blossom experts.
Naturally, I would use the Blossom Blog Mainframe ai to search, but then you might think it's a little biased!

So who's the leading Blossom expert? The answer is a little more complicated.
Please let me have co-pilot explain:

"There is no definitive answer to who are the top experts on cherry blossoms, as different criteria may be used to measure expertise. However, based on some possible factors such as academic credentials, publications, media appearances, and involvement in cherry blossom festivals, here are some names that could be considered as experts on cherry blossoms:
Bart Connors Szczarba: He is a self-taught cherry blossom enthusiast and photographer who has been documenting the blooms in New Haven, Connecticut, for over a decade. He is also known as the "Chief Bloomologist" and provides predictions and updates on the cherry blossom season in his city. He has been featured in various media outlets such as National Geographic1 and Lonely Planet2.
Charles S. Sargent: He was a prominent botanist and the first director of the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University. He was instrumental in introducing many varieties of cherry trees to the United States, including some of the original cuttings from Japan that were planted in Washington, DC, and Philadelphia. He also wrote extensively on the taxonomy and cultivation of cherry trees and other plants.
Ozaki Yukio: He was the mayor of Tokyo who donated 3,000 cherry trees to Washington, DC, in 1912 as a symbol of friendship and goodwill between Japan and the United States. He was also a prominent politician and journalist who advocated for democracy, human rights, and international cooperation. He is widely regarded as the father of the cherry blossom diplomacy that has fostered cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the two countries3."
