Will Wooster Square's Cherry Blossoms peak early in 2024?

 Blossom Mathematics for Newbies

Wait a minute, cherry blossoms are pretty flowers, but Blossom Math?

Yes, in fact.

There are similarities between math and cherry blossoms. In math, you need to prove or find out something. In Blossomation math, it's as easy as counting on your fingers!

Lose you yet? In other words, like math, the sum of all the Cherry Trees in full bloom (actually 70%) is Peak Bloom!

However, being the Wooster Square's
Chief Bloomologist is a little more complicated. You have to be one with our sensational sweet square sakura's.  The blossoms seem to have a mind of their own, so predictions move up and back.

Temperature, sun, winds and weather coax our pink and white pretties back to life.

Back to the math. So if the history holds true, they would be peaking anywhere from April 5 - 9. Or not! The flowers can hang around for a couple of weeks if we are lucky. Then they are blowing in the wind...

The Wooster Square Cherry Blossom Festival is April 14 noon to 4:30.  It's a huge neighborhood picnic with bands and food trucks. Bring blankets and chairs and help us to celebrated New Haven's official kickoff of spring!

The Cherry Blossoms may peak before, so be sure to follow on here on the blog, Facebook page, X, and Instagram for the latest developments!

Take a look at photos from Monday March 18!
